We use only the highest quality methods when building your deck. We strive to be as open and transparent as possible. You are spending your hard-earned money and deserve to know where it is going. Here are some common questions we receive as backyard deck contractors.
Do you use nails to build decks?
We use ledger locks and exterior screws on almost all the deck framing, with joist hangers being the only exception. We normally install joists on the top of the beam and screw them to the beam, so we don’t need joist hangers. If more headroom is needed or we are installing under decking, we mount the joists flush. Trust us for superior fastening systems, not only in decking but also in fencing, as we pledge to use only the best!
Is our lumber from a big box store?
We do not purchase our lumber from a big box store. As a backyard deck contractor, our job is to ensure that your lumber has fewer knots and is straight. We typically use 2×10” lumber for joists. All the lumber we use is pressure treated so your backyard deck will provide years of enjoyment! Don’t use low-quality products for your deck!
Will screws be visible on my deck?
We use a stainless steel hidden fastener system to attach your decking to the deck framing. This system has a spacer heel on each fastener so that each deck board will be perfectly spaced. Unlike face-screwed products or a clip system, the hidden fastener system will give your backyard deck an incredible finished look. Not sure if this system is for you?
